Our Mission

"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God."
Luke 18:16 (NKJV)

The primary aim of the Children's Ministry of Calvary Chapel Cobb is to consistently present the love of Jesus Christ to our pupils. As long as there remains the possibility that a child would enter our classes without knowing who Jesus is, we will remain steadfast in putting Jesus at the forefront of our time together.

"And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
2 Timothy 3:15
(NKJV)

Another goal of the Ministry is to put a premium on the reading and the knowing of the Word of God. As such, the curriculum we teach progresses "chapter by chapter" through selective books of the Bible throughout each quarter. Memory verses and group reading are used to instill joy in the knowledge of the Scriptures.

"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only..."
James 1:22 (NKJV)

Finally, we challenge children that are willing to volunteer to aid the adults as well as display their understanding of Christian concepts through art and puppetry. We strive to create and atmosphere of servant-hood and sacrifice for the sake of others.

Service Process

Regarding Children In The Sanctuary During Church Services

It is our aim at Calvary Chapel Cobb to provide an environment where all may worship God and learn of Him. We believe in bringing our children to Jesus in a setting appropriate to their age and learning level. We do not desire to contradict the Lord's command to "Permit little children to come unto Him, and forbid them not," Luke 18:16a. To the contrary, classrooms and nursery care, with excellent teaching staff, are provided for their edification and learning.

Our policy of not allowing children in the sanctuary during services is designed to enable both adults and children to be taught without distraction at their own age level.

We ask that all children from age 2 months through 12 years attend their appropriate classes. These classes are held at the same time as the adult worship services. We understand you may be visiting, or are new to the church, and are not familiar with this policy. During your first visits with us, parent(s) will be allowed to stay with your child(ren) in the sanctuary provided they do not interrupt the service. The last two rows in the sanctuary are reserved for first time visitors with children. The Nursing Mother's room is available for nursing infants.

We thank you very much for your cooperation.

Check-in, Check-out Process and Parental Notification

The Children's Annex is located at the northern corner of the building at 1000 N. Cobb Parkway, left of the church sanctuary, other side of the Korean restaurant. Prior to service start (10:00 a.m. on Sunday), children should be escorted to the Annex for Children's Church. There are two classrooms and a great room in the Annex. The first room on the left is for children ages 3 through 5 years of age. The room located near the secondary exit from the great room is for children ages 6 through 8 years. And finally, the great room is home for the age group 9 through 12 years. Teenagers (13+) are invited to Youth Bible Study.

At check-in, we will require a parent/guardian name, and the name of the child. The child will be assigned an ID tag, and the parent will receive a corresponding ticket with matching numbers. In order to check-out following the service, the matching ticket from the parent/guardian will be required. Should a situation arise requiring the assistance of the parent/guardian the number on the ticket will be flashed on the red-colored LED panel located just above the platform in the sanctuary.

The Infant care room is located at the first door on the left hand side in the hallway leading to the sanctuary in the main church suite. Children 0 to young three years of age are invited to this room. The check-in process is much the same, with the child's ID appearing on a sticker which is placed in such a way that the infant cannot reach to remove.
